Christmas has arrived in school this week, children are loving seeing the Christmas tree in reception and classes are being decorated to get into the Christmas spirit. This week, during a walk around school, it was wonderful to see children practicing Christmas songs and their video contribution to the Christmas production. Class teams are working hard on these and we are planning to share them with parents via Tapestry next Wednesday. It has been strange not being part of the excitement of rehearsals and songs this year, but I am excited to see the final videos. Thank you to parents who have organised costumes.
Next Friday will be a busy day in school, in the morning we will have our Christingle assembly, Reverend Simon will be joining us virtually in assembly, and this will be followed in the afternoon by a “HMO Christmas Bake Off”, classes are preparing their show stopper entries, and we have some special guest judges who will be judging the contributions either virtually or in person! We will share the judging virtually with classes, as we already do with our assemblies. Also don’t forget it’s Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper day on Friday.
We had successful TA interviews a few weeks ago, and we have been excited for our new TAs to join us this week. Molly has joined Saplings and Buds , Eleanor has joined Oak Leaves on a Thursday and Friday and Kirsty has joined Oak Trees. As we say “Hello” to new staff, we also say “Goodbye” to Zara, we wish her lots of luck in her new role at her new school in Selby.
